Test Engineer

Role Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Test Engineer to develop, execute and optimize test solutions for high-speed serial interfaces. This role focuses on validating signal integrity, performance and reliability of SerDes IP and products from silicon bring-up through high-volume manufacturing. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, validation and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, standards-compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for high-speed SerDes interfaces

  • Design and implement production and characterization tests for SerDes IP and SoCs

  • Perform silicon bring-up, debug and characterization of SerDes blocks

  • Measure and analyse high-speed signals including jitter, eye diagrams, BER and channel performance

  • Develop and maintain automated test programs on ATE and/or lab-based test platforms

  • Collaborate with design and DFT teams to improve testability and coverage

  • Analyse test data to identify failure mechanisms, yield issues and reliability concerns

  • Optimize test time, cost and yield for high-volume manufacturing

  • Work with external vendors, foundries and OSATs during NPI and production ramp

  • Document test methodologies, results and best practices


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field

  • Strong understanding of high-speed serial communication fundamentals

  • Hands-on experience with SerDes testing and signal integrity concepts

  • Experience using high-speed lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, pattern generators and spectrum analysers

  • Familiarity with ATE platforms and test development

  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, C/C++ or similar

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • Experience testing multi-gigabit SerDes

  • Knowledge of compliance testing for industry standards (PCIe, Ethernet, USB, etc.)

  • Experience with DFT features for SerDes (loopback modes, PRBS, on-chip monitors)

  • Background in signal integrity, channel modelling and equalization techniques

  • Experience with yield analysis and statistical data analysis

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

  • Attention to detail and strong documentation habits

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
